En 1982 la banda estadounidense Chicago lanzó una de sus baladas más conocidas, It's Hard to Say I'm Sorry. Aparece en su decimotercer álbum de estudio, Chicago 16. Este clásico sigue sonando en bandas sonoras, anuncios de televisión, y por supuesto, toda radio rockera que se precie.
Ha sido versionado, entre otros, por Az Yet, Westlife y Barry Manilow.
